about

Contact Lights is a young Kiev-based electronic music projeсt by
Yaroslav Vitkovskiy. Yaroslav creates music which is a diffusion of
synthwave, retrowave, and darksynth with a slight influence of an early
post-hardcore and post-rock bands. He started listening an
experimental electronic music such as Death Grips and Perturbator and
that was that moment when he realised that he needed a bigger space of
variations for experiments and chose this area to be in.
The music itself can be descibed as a symbiote of dark electronic
genres such as darkwave, shoegaze and genres associated with the neon
culture of middle 80s and early 90s. The sound can be implemented
either to a some kind of a dark VHS film or to the stylish
retro-influenced film where you hop into the Ferrari Testarossa and
drive into the horizon followed by neon streetlights.
The biggest influence on the Yaroslav's compositions has done the
music of Perturbator. Yaroslav tries to create the beats which
will keep a listener in tension until the very end of the track and
draw dark rainy retro landscapes in between the reality and eyes of a
person listening to them.
Contact Lights now has a full-format independently recorded album
"Paradis Artificial" which consists of 11 tracks all soaked in an
occult and hardcore synthwave mood. Also there are early before-album
singles which can show you the musical evolution of a project and also
give you some aesthetic pleasure. Right now Yaroslav is working on a
new album which is promised to be far more complicated and moody than
"Paradis Artificial". When will it come out? We will see...
